Update 20 is now live!

Introducing Update 20: car theft and lost cargo events, plus new story missions. We’ve also revamped the vehicle upgrade system and made the game world more exciting. Expect realistic environmental destruction, smooth weather controls, and plenty of bug fixes.

Now, let’s dive into the details!

New event: Car Theft

Make a name for yourself among the legends of car thieves — daring chases and risky missions with new mechanics await you!

Your task: find, steal, and deliver a specific car to a designated location in the city. The key is not to get caught. The cleaner the job, the higher the reward.

In addition to other activities, a car theft event will now trigger at specific times on the server. You’ll see marked cars that are ready to be stolen.

Your job is to find one of these cars, break into it, and drive it to the drop-off point.

New event: Lost Cargo

Keep an eye on the sky— cargo planes are now flying overhead with containers. When you spot one, get ready: they'll drop valuable cargo at random locations. Be the first to reach the drop site, crack open the container, grab the loot, and deliver it to the drop-off point.

We recommend arriving in a large vehicle and coming fully armed. The cargo is big, and a real hunt could break out over it. Your only way to claim the reward is to deliver it safely to the finish line.

At the start of the event, all players on the server will receive a pop-up notification with a "Mark" button.

A description of the objective and a timer for the event will appear below the mini-map. You'll also see an airplane icon with a text tooltip. As soon as the plane drops the cargo, a marker will appear at the designated location.

Story updates: new storylines and full voiceover

Have you missed Angelina? So have we! Get ready for three brand-new missions, plus two with updated storylines.

You'll meet new characters — some of whom might even seem familiar. Take that shirtless guy, for example. Rumor has it he's also a fan of ice baths... But no spoilers! See for yourself, and be sure to let us know what you think of the new missions.

What's more, every character now has a voice. The entire story campaign is fully voiced.

Stunt score counter

Earn score points for pulling off cool stunts: speeding, drifting, jumping, motorcycle tricks, and knocking down objects. Pull off stunts in a car or on a motorcycle, set records, and compete against other players!

The score counter appears automatically as soon as a player unlocks an achievement or starts earning points from drifting.

Changes to the open world

In Version 20, the world of Novograd feels more alive than ever. You can now peek inside some houses through their windows, while high-speed collisions are more dynamic and immersive! Leaves scatter from trees, and power poles shower sparks when struck.

And, of course, there are the fences. There are a lot more of them now, so feel free to put their durability to the test.

We’ve also made the destruction system more realistic. The durability of many objects throughout the city and along the roads has been reworked, and they now respond differently depending on the type of damage they receive. A single shot is no longer enough — you’ll need sustained fire, a heavy impact, or an explosion to bring them down.

Changes to vehicle upgrades system

Upgrading cars is now faster and more convenient. You no longer need to manually choose which component to upgrade or figure out how to obtain better parts — your vehicle can now be upgraded with a single click.

Upgrades now use Car Parts. These provide upgrade materials that are automatically distributed among the selected vehicle's components, including the engine, transmission, and more.

All existing upgrade progress has been preserved. For example, if you installed an Epic engine on your Volgarik before the update, it will remain on the vehicle after updating.

Please note that the 0/100 progress bar indicates how close you are to unlocking a higher-quality component.

A new component quality tier, Mythic, has been added to the upgrade system. This tier sits above Legendary and combines the strengths of all Legendary variants.

As part of this change, each component now has only one Legendary variant. If you owned multiple Legendary variants of the same component on a single vehicle — for example, three Legendary engines on one car — you will retain one Legendary component after the update. You will also receive compensation in the form of Auto Parts for each additional Legendary variant that is removed.

We’ll continue refining vehicle balance and improving the upgrade system, so we’d love to hear your thoughts. Be sure to share your feedback and suggestions with us.

Other changes

  • The destruction system has become more realistic: objects on roads and in urban environments now have durability and react differently depending on the type of impact. A single shot is no longer enough — it will now take a series of hits, a powerful strike, or an explosion.

  • Players will now see the homeowner's name directly on the map. We've also added a clan icon to the homeowner's profile.

  • We've updated the look of the player profile — removing unnecessary elements and highlighting key information. And that's not all. We'll continue improving your profile in future updates.

  • Improved the display of vehicles in the store.

  • We've also added the ability to switch the weather and time of day in the settings or while using drone mode.

Fixes

We thought, “You can never have too many bug fixes!” So we decided to share our progress in the patch notes.

  • Reduced lag when there are a large number of friend requests.

  • Ammo collected in single-player mode is now available in multiplayer through the shared ammo pool.

  • Fixed the top speed of the Nova Blue car — it can now reach 341 km/h.

  • Fixed incorrect speed display for the fire truck during acceleration.

  • Fixed an issue that prevented vehicle upgrades from being applied and blocked vehicle repairs.

  • Drag race results are now displayed correctly for the Flip.

  • The delivery notification window will no longer close on its own.

  • Fixed issues with police cars spawning incorrectly, as well as a bug with horn sounds — the police siren is no longer the default horn for non-police vehicles.

  • Fixed texture issues when rotating items in the weapon upgrade window.

  • We've fixed the spam issue with gun skin notifications — they won't appear again.

  • The character no longer freezes when trying to get out of the car.

Fixes from the Version 20 Beta

Beta builds help us test new versions of the game together with the community. Thanks to your reports, we found several bugs that need to be fixed. Some of them have already been resolved in the release version of Update 20, while the team continues working on the remaining fixes.

Fixed in the Version 20 Release

  • Buildings no longer disappear from the map.

  • Fixed an issue from the beta where all rear-wheel drive vehicles became all-wheel drive.

  • The consumables button no longer disappears while sitting in the passenger seat.

  • The drone no longer teleports the player after they are knocked out.

  • Fixed an issue with the cat backpack in Supplies: the cat was visible, but the backpack was missing. The cat stayed. The backpack is back.

Known Issues

The following issues are known to the team and are currently being worked on:

  • Window tint may display incorrectly on some vehicles.

  • Service vehicles used for taxi and police jobs are spawned with half HP.

  • In some cases, the button to open the container does not appear in the Lost Cargo event.

  • Cat situation, again: when switching backpacks in the appearance shop, the cat may remain attached to other backpacks.

  • Some buildings can be driven or walked through.

  • The clan quests tab may disappear.

  • The Daniel vehicle does not level up, and level rewards cannot be claimed.

  • The Zeus vehicle’s windshield color has changed, which may make it look like the windshield is missing.

  • Some players may not see the number of likes on their profile.

  • Players may appear more than once in the friends list.

  • Vehicle decals may disappear from view at the finish line of a drag race.

  • The camera may tilt upward when aiming.

  • Police may be missing in single-player mode.

  • If a house owner leaves the server, their house may remain on the server.
